Automatic logins on Ubuntu

If you are using an Ubuntu machine that you don't share with others, you may not like that you have to log on every time you boot your machine. If you don't like logging in every time, here's how to configure your Ubuntu box so that it automatically logs in.

Go to System -> Administration -> Login Window, you'll then be asked to confirm your password. When the Login Window Preferences panel opens, select he Security tab. At the top of the panel, there will be labeled Enable Automatic Login. Check the box next to it and, optionally, select the user that you want to automatically log in as. Click the Close button to save your changes. Next time you log in to your Ubuntu box, you will be logged in automatically.
