If you have a Mac laptop, Orbicule is making a really cool piece of software that helps to recover your Mac if it's stolen. It's nice because it's a software-only solution to recovery, and it's very clever.

Basically, if your Mac is stolen, the software will start broadcasting the location of the computer to you any time it is connected to the internet. If you Mac has a built-in iSight camera, it'll also take pictures of the person using the computer and send those to you as well. While none of this ensures that you'll get your computer back, it does greatly increase the chance of that happening.

In addition, if you don't get it back, the software will start to mimic hardware failure by affecting the display. If they take it in to get fixed, you'll know that too, and then you are sure to get it back. It'll even pop up a screen once repair is underway to let the technician know that the computer is stolen.

If you travel a lot, or leave your Mac laptop in insecure locations, this is a good investment to make.
