Mess-free cupcakes
If you are making cupcakes, you can make a special treat for your kids and help reduce the mess too. Instead of cooking your cupcakes in a cupcake tin, bake them in ice cream cones. Kids love it, and it's actually less messy to eat than a normal cupcake.
To make your cupcakes in an ice cream cone, make sure you are using non-waffle cones--the type that are flat on the bottom and can be stood up. Fill the cones with the cupcake batter so that they are about 2/3 full, stand the cones in baking pan with high sides and cook them normally. Once cooked, allow to cool and then ice and decorate.
You may need to experiment with baking times and the amount of batter to use in the cone. But once you get this dialed in, kids will love this special treat.
