Buying sippy cups
As your kids transition from bottles to drinking from cups, you'll find yourself buying a lot of sippy cups -- cups that have a lid which allows you child to sip from them, but which won't spill out the liquid in the cup no matter what angle the cup is at. The key to buying sippy cups is to but the right kind. Many sippy cups have three parts -- the cup, the lid, and a plastic piece that fits in the lid and acts as a valve to keep the liquid from spilling out. Do not buy this type of sippy cups. If you do, you will forever be losing the small plastic pieces that go in the lids, and once that piece is gone, the cup is rendered useless.
Instead, make sure you buy the sippy cups that have the valve already built into the lid so that there is just the cup and the lid. Over time, you'll be much happier with these sippy cups since you won't have to worry about losing pieces of them.
