For best operation, maintain your table saw surface

When using a table saw, you want the material to slide easily on the table. This makes for cleaner, more accurate cuts, and it makes things safer too.

To that end, use steel wool to keep the table surface of your table saw clean and free of rust and dings. If you have a big ding, sand it smooth. Once you have a smooth surface, use automotive paste wax on the table surface. This will keep things moving really smoothly.
