Repairing hairline cracks in china

If your fine china has hairline cracks, try soaking the cracked pieces of china in milk overnight. In the morning, gently hand-wash the china with mild detergent and warm water. You should find that the hairline cracks are gone or are at least greatly reduced.

I have tried the old tip about boiling the china in milk and it didn't work for me.

It doesn't say anything about boiling the china... it says to just soak it overnight.
