Stop programs from running on startup in VistaVista makes it much easier to control the programs that running on startup when compared to previous version of Windows such as XP. If you want to stop a program from running when Vista starts up, go to the Control Panel and type "startup" (without the double quotes) in the search box. This will bring up a window which shows Windows Defender and a link to "Stop a program from running at startup". Click that link. This will show a list of all the programs that start up automatically when booting up Vista. If you want to remove a program from this list, just click on it and then hit the "Remove" button. If you want to keep the program in the list for now, you can opt for the "Disable" button.
