Password protect folders in XP

If you are sharing a Windows XP computer with other users, one additional security measure you can take to protect your files and work is to password protect entire files. To do this, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder you want to add password protection on. Then right-click on the folder and choose Properties from the menu. Once the properties panel opens, select the Sharing tab. At the bottom of the panel you see a check box labeled "Make this folder private". If you check this box, your folder will then be password protected. You can password protect files in this way too.
