Getting rid of boot errors messages in XP

It's possible to wedge XP so that you get an error messages every time you boot up. This typically happens when a piece of software is removed and the uninstall process does not work correctly. The boot error does not stop you from booting, but it is annoying. If you want to stop getting these types of errors when booting XP, here what you can do.

- Start the registry editor by going to Start -> Run and typing in regedit and hitting Enter.

- In the left panel, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\ + SYSTEM + CurrentControlSet + Control + Windows section.

- In the right panel, right click and create a new entry of type DWORD. Call the new entry NoPopupsOnBoot and give it a value of 1.

Next time you boot XP, you should not get any error messages.
