Speed up Windows Vista booting on laptops
When Vista boots, it spends up to 5 seconds looking for external monitors. This results in a slower boot time, and it also causes weird screen flash when Vista boots up. If you are using a laptop and you don't have an external monitor hooked up to your computer, you can speed up your boot time in Vista and get rid of the screen flash by turning off this check.
- Go to Start, select the Control Panel, the the Administrative Options and finally the Task Scheduler.
- Expand Task Scheduler Library, then Microsoft, then Windows, then click MobilePC.
- At the top there will be a task called TMM. Click it and on the right-hand side click Disable.
Once you save your changes, TMM will be disable and Vista will boot quicker with no flashing of the screen.
