Removing labels from jars
Here are some tips to help in the removal of labels from jars so that you can reuse the jars for other things.
1. Soak the jar in hot water for several hours. This will loosen up the paper portion of the label as well as the glue on the label. After it's been soaking for a couple hours, try peeling off the label and using your hands to rub off any portion of the label that remains.
2. If the label is very stubborn, repeat the above procedure and then use fine grit sandpaper to sand off the remaining parts of the label.
You may have to repeat the process several times. But if you are patient I have yet to meet a label that hasn't been removed in this way.
