Adjusting Red Eye in iPhoto
If you use iPhoto to retouch the Red Eye in your pictures, there is a hidden advanced editing mode that you might want to know about.
Normally when you are adjusting red eye in iPhoto, you highlight the area to be fixed using a box. But if after selecting the red eye button you press Control + Caps Lock + 9 at once, and then press the tab key, you'll get a circle that you can use to indicate an area instead of a rectangle. You can use the bracket keys [ and ] to adjust the circle to be bigger or smaller. When you are in this advanced red eye mode in iPhoto, if you press the Shift key down while clicking, it will perform a less aggressive adjustment than normal.
Using this trick, you can make red eye adjustments that are far more precise. Most times it doesn't matter, but for those cases where it does, this is a nice trick to know.
