Disable remote desktop on Vista

If you are not using the Home version of Windows Vista, your version of Vista will contain the remote desktop application and it will be enabled by default. Aside from being a potential security hole, running this is a waste of resources. If you have an extra two minutes on your hands, it's a good idea to disable remote desktop. Heres how to do it.

- Go to the Start menu and select Control Panel.
- Select "Systems and Maintenance" and then select "System".
- From the left side, select "Remote settings". If UAC is enabled, you'll need to confirm that you want to do this (this really makes things secure, doesn't it?)
- Uncheck the box next to the "Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer " option and make sure that the box next to the "Don't allow connections to this computer" option is checked.
- Click OK and you have disabled remote desktop on your computer.
