Opening typed URLs in a new tab

If you are using a tabbed browser and you are typing a URL in directly in the address bar, you can easily have the new site open in a new tab instead of in the tab in which you are typing. Instead of hitting Enter once you have typed in the URL address, hit Alt+Enter if you are using Firefox or IE7 or hit Command+Enter if you are using Safari. This shortcut saves you from habing to open a new tab first before you type in a new URL address.
