Stop dog jumping
Dog jumping is a very annoying habit that can be dangerous too. Dogs usually jump because they are excited and they want attention. An easy, and gentle, way to stop a dog from jumping is to not reward bad behavior. Usually when a dog jumps, people give the dog exactly what it wants which is attention. They tell the dog to stop, the push the dog away, all of which results in attention being paid to the dog. If you want the jumping to stop, completely shut the dog out when they jump. When they jump turn your back to the dog. When the dog comes around to your front, turn away from them and do not make eye contact. This gentle treatment will usually correct dog jumping after a couple of episodes.
