Cats can be pretty finicky. When you get a new bed or cat-condo for you cat it may take them a while before they will accept it and start using it. To speed this process along, try putting a mirror behind the bed or in the cat-condo. When your cat sees the "other cat" on the bed they'll want to make their own. Not sure why this works. But I replace my cat's bed every year and this really speeds the process along.
