How to keep jewelery looking clean
Tips I use to keep my jewelery looking clean.
1. Always put on your jewelery last. If you are wearing your jewelery when you apply makeup, hair products, hand lotion or anything else, some of it is bound to get on your jewelery and it will dull the shine.
2. Keep a desiccant in your jewelery box to help reduce tarnishing. I find that a stick of chalk works wonders.
3. Keep gold and silver jewelry in separate boxes. A little less sure about this one but it comes from my grandmother and her jewelery always looked fabulous.
4. Actually clean your jewelry off. I find that baby wipes work very well but nothing compares to a professional cleaning using an autoclave. I tried to get my jewelery professional cleaned at least once a year. They also sell home autoclave units, but I don't know first-hand how well those work.
