Copying Windows error messages

When you get an error message in Windows, you can't highlight the text and copy it. This would be useful since you sometimes want to Google for the text of the error message or send it along to someone trying to provide help. Even though you can't highlight the message text, you can still copy the error message. Just make sure the error window has the focus and type Ctrl + C and the error message will got copied to the clipboard.
