Remove your bike rack in the winter
If you have a bike rack on your car that you don't use for anything during the winter, you should consider taking it off your car in the winter. Bike racks, either on the top of your car or on the back, increase your car's drag and reduce your fuel economy. If it's not being used and you won't be using it for a while, it's probably worth the hassle to take the rack off and put it back on in the spring.
