Restarting X Server in Ubuntu

In Ubuntu 9.10 (and higher hopefully) you can easily configure your system to restart X Server using the Ctrl + Alt + Backspace keyboard shortcut. To enable this...

- Go to System -> Preferences -> Keyboard.

- Select the Layouts tab.

- Click the Layout Options.... button.

- Open the Key sequence to kill the X server section and check the box next to Control + Alt + Backspace.

You can then use the Ctrl + Alt + Backspace keyboard shortcut any time you need to restart X Server.
