Measuring holes for hanging things

Have you ever tried to hang something, like a picture, where you have to put two screws into the wall and they need to be a specific distance apart from each other otherwise the picture won't hang? It can be hard to get these exactly right, but here's a trick that will help you get this right every time: masking tape!

Put a piece of masking tape on the back of the thing to be hung and run it across the holes. You can then poke a mark where each hole needs to go. Take the masking tape of your picture and tape it on the wall where you want it to be hung. Now you've got the perfect template and you know exactly where you put your screws. And all without having to measure anything.
