Disabling UAC in Windows 7
The UAC in Windows 7 is a lot better than in Vista, and it's adjustable. You can choose just how much you get in the way of notifications. But even if you choose not to get notified by the UAC, it's still running in the background. If you want to completely disable the UAC in Windows 7, you need to make a registry change.
_ Go to the Start menu and type in regedit.exe to start the registry editor app.
_ In the left panel, browse to this location by click on the triangles: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > System.
_ Once there, look in the right panel for the setting called EnableLUA. You want to double click on this setting to change the value from 1 (which enables the UAC) to 0 (which disables the UAC).
Once this change is made, you'll need to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect and for the UAC to be completely disabled.
