How to save water if you own a well!

If you own a well, you know that droughts affect whether or not you get to have clean clothes or not.
So what I do to conserve water when I cannot go to the laundry mat, is this: Go ahead and put your clothes in the washer, add soap, and choose your setting. But, leave the lid on while the water fills up.
This gives your well time to fill up again, and you can actually shower after doing the laundry! (LOL!)
Hope that one helps someone!!
