Miniplayer mode with iTunes 9

With previous versions of iTunes on the Mac, you could always get the miniplayer by clicking the green + symbol meant to maximize applications. As of iTunes 9, that shortcut no longer works. Instead it maximizes the iTunes window. Doh!

Never fear, there is still an easy shortcut to get the miniplayer in iTunes 9. Before you click on the green + symbol hold down the Alt key on your keyboard (the Option key on some keyboards). If you do this, you'll get the miniplayer instead of a maximized iTunes window.

Thanks for the above tip. I think it sucks they took that function away. The + serves no purpose now. I went into system preferences and created a shortcut in the Keyboard settings. Go to add a new one and of course choose ITunes as the application. Type in "Switch to Mini Player" and create your own shortcut key. I chose "command S." Really wish ITunes hadn't changed this. It was fine the way it was. Hope this helps.

Apple fixed this. In version 9.0.1 of iTunes the behavior is back to its old self.
