ear plugs for concerts
If you've ever tried to save your hearing by wearing foam ear plugs at a concert, you were probably disappointed by the results. Yeah, the foam ear plugs save your ears from getting hurt, but music sounds pretty bad through them; it tends to totally kill the higher ranges so that you only get the bass. There is a better solution though. A company called Hearos makes a product that they call High Fidelity Ear Filters. They reduce sound levels by 20dB, but they do so in a way that is flat across all frequencies. So what you hear is exactly is the music as it was intended to be heard, just at a less ear shattering volume level.
