Once I updated my iPhone to version 3 software I had a problem with some of the application icons. For some of the apps, the wrong icon was being shown. One of the apps even had an icon that was a mash-up of several other application icons. If this happens to you, here's the fix for this problem.

1) Hook up your iPhone to your computer and then in iTunes go to your iPhone in the Devices and select the Applications tab.

2) Uncheck the applications that have the icons messed up.

3) Sync your iPhone.

4) Go back to the applications tab and re-check the applications that you previously unchecked.

5) Sync again.

Once this is done, the icons that were messed up should now be shown correctly.
