Opening Spotlight results in the Finder
In the Mac Spotlight, clicking a result tends to open the corresponding file although the behavior does vary based on the type of result. But since Spotlight only shows file names, it's sometimes hard to know which result is the one you really want. There are two tricks to help with this. The first is hovering over the result. If you hover over a result for a second or two, Spotlight will open a little tooltip window that shows the full path of the result. If that's not enough, you can hold down the command key when you click on a result. Doing this results in showing the resulting file in the Finder instead of opening an application or the file itself.
