In the Vista version of Solitaire, when you click on the deck, it ruffles through three cards showing you the third. If you are stuck and you want a bit of a cheat, hold down the Shift, Alt, and Ctrl keys all at the same time when you click on the deck. When you do this, it will give you the next card instead of ruffling through three cards. Using this, you can get a chance to use every card in the deck.
