Here's what you need to do to reset any iPod with a click wheel, including all generations of the iPod Nano:

- First, you have to toggle the "hold" switch by sliding it to "hold" position, and then back to "off" again.

- Then just press the "Menu" and "Center" buttons at the same time and hold them for about 10 seconds. You should wait until you see the Apple logo appears on screen.

- If the last step doesn't do the trick the first time, you'll just have to do it again until it does ( generally does work in the first or second try from my own experience ).
