Default folder when opening a Finder window
When you open the Finder on the Mac it always opens up in your Home folder. If that works for you, great. If you are consistently going to the same place in the Finder, you can update your Finder preferences so that when you open the Finder it'll start in that folder.
With the Finder opened, select Finder in the menu bar and then choose Preferences....
Select the General tab.
Where it says New Finder windows open: you can select the pull-down to change the folder that they open in. If the folder you want is not listed, select the Other... option and you can then select any folder.
