problem with multiple monitors on the Mac
Maybe it's just me, but I seem to have a problem with multiple monitors on my Macbook Pro. The problem occurs when I disconnect my computer (putting it to sleep) from the second monitor, go off and do something (and put it back to sleep), and then plug everything back in and turn my computer back on. When I do this, the monitor on my Macbook Pro is blank, but the second monitor is now working as my primary monitor.
When this happens, I've found that I can get the first monitor owrking again by opening System Preferences, opening the Display section and then pushing the Detect Displays button. When I do this, it then finds the display on my Macbook Pro and everything gets back to normal. But boy is this annoying. The better solution I've found is to turn on my Macbook Pro *before* I connect the second display. If I do this, things work from the start.
