If you have had enough of the useless messages continually being generated by the windows vista security center, you may want to consider turning them off. Yes, this may open you up to not being notified about something which actually needs you attention. But if you are getting so many of these messages already that you completely ignore them, then you'll probably miss the "real" warning too.

If you want to disable the security center notification, open the Control Panel and select the Security Center option. Once the Security Center opens, click on the "Change the way Security Center alerts me" link. This will bring up a panel giving you three options for your notifications from the highest level (the default) down to receiving no notifications (my personal favorite).
