Interested in adoption?
One useful tid bit that I do have knowledge of is that in most states (Georgia for certain) nearly 80% of foster children are adopted by their foster parents. In the case of a state adoption it is much, much cheaper to adopt if you adopt a child that is in the custody of the state. These children need good homes so badly and yes there are infants but there are also sibling goups and older children and there are many disabled children. The latter of these are all catagorized as "Special Needs" children and qualify for monthly income support which is a big help in caring for them and their needs especially in the current economy. For those of you who are not interested in fostering but want to adopt a child you should know that you can go straight through to adoption by finding a child that has already been placed up for adoption by the state they resided in. You can also adopt accross state lines in most cases if you don't mind wading through red tape. I have posted a web site but the best way to get started is to either contact your local DFCS office or type (example: Georgia state adoptions) into your browser. Good luck.
