Problems with "Page not Found"? Choose permanent URIs
Have you faced this scenario before: you go to a cool site and bookmark it to your browser. When you visit the link a few months later, you are forwarded to an obnoxious "Page not found" error page. This is one of the most annoying part of web browsing today.
The reason this happened is probably because the site developer did not give much thought on the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) when he initially set up the page. Despite the strength of reasoning to change, it all boils down to bad planning and management.
