Modifying google image searches
Google image search has some experimental modifiers that you can make use of by directly modifying your search URL. The modifiers allow you to limit image search results to being only images that are of faces or images that are only news related. To make use of these search terms, perform an image search in Google using the normal method. Once you get the results, go to the address bar and add one of the following terms to the end of the URL: &imgtype=face or &imgtype=news.
Here's some example URLS showing how this works:
http://images.google.com/images?q=berkeley
http://images.google.com/images?q=berkeley&imgtype=face
http://images.google.com/images?q=berkeley&imgtype=news
