Curing topped golf shots
Topping the ball in golf is very common. To cure topping, practice shots when placing the ball on a coin and aim for the coin, not the ball. To hit the coin consistently, you must learn to aim the golf club head into the bottom of the ball. Hitting the bottom of the ball is necessary to utilize the club's loft and this will in turn avoid topping the ball.
Start out with the club very lofted and make small chip swings. As you get better at hitting the coin and the bottom of the ball, start increasing the length of your swings.
Oh yeah, and keep your head down.
