open links in a new tab on the iPhone
One thing Apple didn't fix on the 3.0 version of the iPhone software is the ability to open links in a new tab. Specifically, the fact that you can't. The only way to open a link on Safari on the iPhone is in the current window. For the millions who are now used to tab browsing, opening links in the current windows sure feels antiquated, and it's annoying that you can't open links and keep reading your current page.
The fix to this is something called Tabulate. It's a bookmarklet, not an actual application, so you don't need to install an app to get this working. Just following the installation instructions on their site. Once it's installed, when you tap on a link you get a pop-up/overlay that let's you decide if you want to open the link in the current tab, open it in a new tab, or save the link for view later.
