Using Spotlight search on the iPhone 3.0
The iPhone 3.0 software introduces the Spotlight search feature. To activate the search, swipe to the left from the first home screen (you'll see the Spotlight icon to the left of the home screen dots, so basically you're trying to get to that spotlight icon).
Once Spotlight starts, you might be wondering how to quit it as there is nothing to tap to get out of it. To quit spotlight, swipe to the right to get back to the home screen or select one of the search results to be taken to that result.
