Change the default event length in iCal

Here's an easy way to change the default length of new events in iCal from the standard 1 hour time.

- Close and Quit iCal.

- Open a terminal window (the terminal app is found in the Applications -> Utilities folder).

- Enter this command:

defaults write com.apple.iCal 'Default duration in minutes for new event' XX

where you replace the XX with a number that represents the number of minutes that you want for the default length of new events. Once you restart iCal, this change will take effect.
