Cutting plastic laminate
If you cut plastic laminate with a sabre saw (jigsaw), you are likely to end up with a lot of chips and a ugly looking cut surface. This is because sabre saw blades cut on the up stroke, so they are more likely to pull material up. If you are going to cut plastic laminate, make sure you get the special down-cutting blades. Any place that sells sabre saw blades should carry these types of blades. You can also use these down-cutting blades in your sabre saw for other materials where pulling out of the material is a a problem.
