Where is My Government Tax Rebate Check?
There could be many reasons why you either received a smaller than expected rebate check or you did not receive one at all. Here is a list of possibilities for the missing payment:
Your address was incorrect. This can be easily updated through the IRS and another check will be issued.
Delinquent taxes, child support, or student loans. This stimulus payment will first be applied to these accounts and you will receive a letter stating how the funds were applied.
You did not file a return. Itʼs not too late; you may file a 2008 return and receive a rebate recovery credit.
Your bank account changed. If you changed your bank account then your check should have been mailed. Be sure to keep your address updated with the IRS.
